If you do a little research you will find out that the original team b were 6 members (B.I, Bobby, Jinhwan, Junhoe, Yunhyeong and Donghyuk). Team b was a one of the two groups 2 years ago in YG’s survival show “Win: Who is next”. The winning team would be the one debuting next under YG. At the final ep of the show, and after voting, team B lost and team A won (the known YG group now “WINNER”).

After this survival show, YG had two options. Either not debut team b at all or re-organise the team and debut them next year. So he pretty much created his next survival show “Mix & Match”. In the show he took the 6 original members of team b and 3 new trainies (9 in total) and he announced that at the end of this survival show, only 7 out of 9 trainies will debut next year, under the name of iKON. At the end of the show, and after viewers votings the iKON team got confirmed as all team B original members + Chanwoo.

That’s pretty much all you need to know. Now, there are some fans that can’t accept Chanwoo as an iKON member because they believe team B should have debuted as 6 and not 7. And that he was not needed in the group. Personally, I am not one of them. I love Chanwoo with all my heart. He is a talented and good kid. I am happy he is part of the group and I will love and support him till the end :D 

Just keep in mind that at the end of the day, we can’t force people to like someone I guess. So as long as they don’t bash him, I am fine.
